Myths and Monsters, Light and Black History Month

It was a real joy to work with the little poets of Small Heath, Birmingham yesterday as part of The Emma Press Myths and Monsters Children’s Tour. We threefold celebrated that, National Poetry Day – this years theme being Light, and Black History Month – managing to incorporate them all into one group poem. This was just them warming up. Lines to come in their individual poems included: ‘as deep as a mouth’, ‘dark as the hole of a sock’ and ‘the fish began to walk.’ Impressed.
